You can search for business name availability using the Montana Secretary of State’s online portal: https://biz.sosmt.gov/search. Enter your desired name to see if it’s in use. Name availability isn’t guaranteed until your registration is completed and approved. The desired name is subject to review per the distinguishability rule - ARM 44.5.131
