How do I register a "Doing Business As" (DBA) name under my Limited Liability Company (LLC)?

Note: In Montana, a 'Doing Business As' (DBA) name and an 'Assumed Business Name' (ABN) are the same thing. Both terms refer to a business name that is different from your LLC's legal name. When you register a DBA, you are officially filing an ABN with the Montana Secretary of State. So, submitting an Assumed Business Name application online means you are registering your DBA under your LLC. This allows your LLC to operate using a different name for marketing or branding purposes while keeping the legal protections of your LLC.
