What is the difference between a commercial and a non-commercial registered agent, and how do I decide which one I need?

Non-Commercial

Updated over 2 months ago

If registering with the structure of a Corporation, LLC, LP, LLLP, a registered agent is required.

When you are filing an LLC, corporate type, or limited partnership, you are legally required to have a registered agent.

A commercial registered agent is a professional company or service that has officially registered with the state to provide registered agent services for other businesses, receiving legal documents and official communications on their behalf.

A non-commercial registered agent is primarily an individual who is their own agent.
