# How do I search for a registered agent?

To find out who the registered agent is for a business, you can use the Montana Secretary of State’s business search tool [**Search | Official Montana Secretary of State**](https://biz.sosmt.gov/search/business). Simply search for the business name, then click on that business in the results list. On the right side of the page, you’ll see the registered agent’s name and address.
