# How do I cancel or discontinue my Montana notary commission?

To cancel or discontinue your Montana notary commission, you may let it expire or submit a resignation form by following the steps below.
 
1) Visit [https://biz.sosmt.gov/](https://biz.sosmt.gov/)
2) Log in with your username and password.
3) Search for your name in the notary search field at [https://biz.sosmt.gov/search/notary](https://biz.sosmt.gov/search/notary)
4) Click on your name and select "filing actions" from the menu.
5) Select and complete the "Resignation of Notary Commission" form
